Attack with LarryC: A Swiercz Drubbing and Blood-curdling Howell

Opening: A33, B94, B12: English: symmetrical, Sicilian: Najdorf, Caro-Kann defense

Player(s): Navara, Jumabayev, Howell, Spoelman, Swiercz, Kamarek

Today Larry takes us in Europe, for a journey through some of the best chess played in the old world in these first months of 2016. David Navara has been a regular guest in Larry's show, mostly because of his ability to see and play impressive combinations. In the first snippet of the show, GM Christiansen shows a nice combo played by the seven time Czech champion, in a game against Spoelman in the Bundesliga. Then we move to the Polish Championship, where Swiercz demonstrates his amazing attacking skills in a game against Kamarek. Half of the sacrifices in that tournament were played by the Polish former chess prodigy, which tells the tale about his fighting and brilliant style of play. Larry concludes with a minor classic played by the strong English GM David Howell in the Keres Memorial. Howell shows how he had planned the very path of the game already at move 15, seeing how it would go at least 7 moves ahead. Impressive. Enjoy another great episode of "Attack with LarryC!".
