GM Yermolinsky - What it takes to be a complete 1.d4 player - Nimzo - Vd 2

Opening: E54: Nimzo-Indian 4.e3 Gligoric System with 7...dxc4

Player(s): Yermolinsky, Martinez Alcantara, Cardoso

I always like to play the Nimzo Indian Defense as Black. As White I stayed away from it, mostly focusing on Queens Indian Defense after 3.Nf3. In occasional games where I allowed the Nimzo I tried an interesting, but rather dubious, Leningrad Variation with 4.Bg5. Only toward the end of my career, I finally started trying my luck in classical setups of the Rubinstein Variation. It offers a great variety of pawn structures, but in the next two videos I would like to focus on situations where White ends up either with the isolated queen pawn or the hanging pawns on the c- and d-files. You can download the games in PGN format HERE
