"Pawns are the soul of chess!" is a famous quote from Philidor. And indeed, pawns and play with them are very important in chess and the pawn structure. We know that a superior pawn structure can bring you a win.
So, if one of the sides has e and f pawns, which may turn into a real pawn phalanx when they start rolling, the other side has to be very careful.
These pawns could be very dangerous, and the side who has them should, of course, strive to push them and use that mighty pawn phalanx.
On the other hand, the side that plays against it has to be very cautious, set up a timely blockade, exchange one of the pawns, or suffer the consequences!
