ARROW

***** ARROW *****

Command: arrow
Example: arrow f1 b5

Arrow is a command available in examine mode. It draws a colored arrow
on the board from one square to another. The starting square and ending
square should be separated by a space, as in the above example.

The purpose of arrow is to add visual emphasis to the commentary given
by the examiner of a game. For example, during a lecture, the examiner
may try to show the strength of a bishop on g7 by using the command
"arrow g7 b2". He or she also may show the path that one piece will follow
during a maneuver. For instance, a rook which goes to the e-file with the
intention of going to the 7th rank can be illustrated (after playing the
move Re1) by the command "arrow e1 e7".

All users of Blitzin 1.8 and Blitzin 2 will be able to see arrows as they
are placed on the board, as long as they are observing or examining the
game. Blitzin version 1.72 and earlier does not support arrows. With
Blitzin 2 you can use right-click & drag to make an arrow, and
ctrl right-click & draw to erase it.

To remove an arrow from e1 to e7, use "unarrow e1 e7". Also, arrows are
automatically erased whenever someone plays a move or steps forward or
backward through the game.

Note that you must be an examiner of the game in order to use the arrow
command.
