- To be eligible for ‘under’ prizes, a player must start the tournament with a blitz rating based on 50 or more games and the account must have first been used at least 60 days prior to the start of the tournament. The player must not have had a Blitz rating more than 200 points above the ‘under’ rating in the past 3 years, based on the rating graph, and must at no point have had a rating more than 300 points above the ‘under’ limit on the account being used, or on any other account the player has used, to be eligible. In the event a player has had a rating reset, the player’s rating, both before and after the reset, may be considered to determine prize eligibility. An account may be disqualified from eligibility for the ‘under’ prizes if there is a history of rating manipulation or rating abuse on the account or any past account used by the same player. ICC reserves the right to assign a floor on the rating of any account, or to place a limit on the number ‘under’ prizes any account or player may win over an interval of time, for the purposes of this and other prize tournaments.
- No player may win more than one prize in the tournament. In the event a player is eligible for more than one prize, the player will be awarded the prize that results in the player getting the most store credit for which they are eligible. In the event of a tie that results in players splitting combined prizes, only one prize per player may be combined for splitting, and ‘under’ prizes can be pooled with place prizes if the result increases the amount of store credit earned by the ‘under’ prize recipient.
- Random consolation prizes will be awarded based on random numbers generated for players at the end of the tournament, as part of the tiebreaking system The numbers will be treated as if they start with a decimal point, and the highest five numbers, for players who won no other prize, will determine the consolation prize winners. This means that 84395 is considered a higher number than 462771 for the purpose of determining the consolation prize winners. The five ‘Random consolation prizes’ will be awarded in the amount of 1.5% of the entry fee pool each. Players who win ‘place’ or ‘under’ prizes, or any fraction of a ‘place’ or ‘under’ prize, will not be eligible to win a ‘Random consolation’ prize.
