Getting a “Bye” in a slow time control tourney is agonizingly tedious and DR points are usually preferable. This is exacerbated by the fact that the lowest rated player anongst the people with no wins always gets the “bye.” So, there is an underclass of players who can expect a bye just about every other tourney. I suggest that either (1) a “Slomato bot” computer program be made so the “bye"player plays a computer, or (2) that the bye be randomly assigned from amongst those with the least points no matter what their rating, or (3) that the tournament host always be required to keep him/herself in reserve to play the “odd man out” in any round.
