In Germany, in the magnificent WEISSENHAUS, eight of the best players in the World will be battling playing the Fischer-random variants.
The elite event is held from February 9 to 16.
The field is quite impressive:
Magnus Carlsen, Fabiano Caruana, Ding Liren, Alireza Firouzja, Vincent Keymer, Nodirbek Abdusattorov, Dommaraju Gukesh, Levon Aronian.
The format is new and interesting: in the first two days, the eight super GMs played a preliminary round-robin to decide the pairings for the final brackets.
