Today, we remember Grandmaster Miso Cebalo, born in Zagreb, Croatia, on February 6, 1945.
Two-time member of the Croatian Team at the Olympiads, Cebalo won the World Senior Championship in 2009.
For years, Cebalo has been an enjoyable presence at the "Torneo di Capodanno" in Reggio Emilia, Italy, either as a player or as a coach.
Cebalo was a FIDE Senior Trainer, and he's been for a long time first board for the Arzignano Team in the Italian Team Championship.
In January 1994, Cebalo reached his peak rating with 2570 Elo points.
A Queen gambit virtuoso and a true expert on minority attacks, Cebalo was considered an authentic gentleman by everyone who knew him, appreciated for his kindness and knowledge.
