Today is the birthday of Grandmaster Vladimir Fedoseev, born in Saint Petersburg, Russia, on February 16, 1995.
European Champion U18 in 2013, Fedoseev had his peak year in 2017 when he won the Aeroflot Open in Moscow and got tied for first place in the World Rapid Championship, losing the tiebreaks to Anand. In 2023, Fedoseev got again second place at the World Rapid Championship. Coached by former FIDE World Champion Alexander Khalifman, Fedoseev reached his peak rating in October 2017, with a whopping 2733 Elo points, and reached the stellar rating of 2810 in Rapid in December 2018.
Since August 2023, Fedoseev has played for the Slovenian Federation.
