We’ve got some awesome news to share! We’ve given our player rating system a little upgrade to make things fairer, more accurate, and overall more fun.

As you might have already noticed, your ratings have gone up. Yep, that’s on purpose! Here’s what’s going on.

Why we’re changing it

We’re re-calibrating our ratings so they better reflect real playing strength. Our old scale was a bit too conservative, and many players ended up underrated. So we’re lifting everyone’s ratings to bring things more in line with actual performance.

What you’ll notice

Your ratings will go up (pretty sweet!) and from now on, as you keep playing, they'll evolve more accurately based on your wins, losses, consistency, and the strength of your opponents.

What's not changing

Your match history stays the same, all your wins, losses, and draws will still be there. Matchmaking works just like before. Puzzle ratings? Totally unchanged.

Final note

A higher rating doesn’t mean you suddenly got stronger overnight, it just means our scale better projects your skill.
