Hello everyone! I have a question for those of you who work with a personal chess coach. I began my training with a GM this year and currently have one session per week. I’m curious about how many training sessions per week you find most effective and how many additional hours you recommend dedicating to chess outside of these sessions. Your insights would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

I do think it depends on why type of focus your chess coach wants to give. I know that when I had a coach, I knew that I needed to play/study/evaluate for about 15+ hours a week in order to not only have the necessary games he would evaluate/look at as well as working on a specific aspect of my game each week. I also have a full-time job and family, so it took a lot of dedication to carve out the time needed.
