GM Petrov’s Mastering the Sicilian Sveshnikov - Video 8

Opening: B33: Sicilian Sveshnikov

Player(s):

In this video, GM Marian shows the alternative after 9. Nd5 when you can try Qa5+. White has to play Bd2, and then you go back to d8. Of course, he can go back to g5, and then it's up to you if you want to draw or switch to Be7. If white plays for a win, he has to play something else. Nf6 and Be3 are not so dangerous, and black has an easy game. As for Bd3, you probably have to take the knight, and then after c4, be ready to sac a pawn with g6 and Bg7. The critical line is c4 when, after Ne4, there are many sharp lines that you have to remember. But as well, you can play simply b4, and black is fine.
