GM Petrov’s Mastering the Sicilian Sveshnikov - Video 5

Opening: B33: Sicilian Sveshnikov

In this chapter, GM Marian shows you what to do in case white goes 7.Nd5. This line was tested a lot during the World Championship match between Caruana and Carlsen. After you take the knight, you have to move the other one back to b8 or e7. In both cases, white has different plans, and you should be careful with some ideas with Qa4. GM Petrov prefers Nb8, and then you should play Be7, castle, followed by a6 Nd7 and f5. Black has a good game.
