GM Petrov’s Master the Modern Opening for black - Video 8

Opening: :

Player(s):

In this video, we will see how to play against the London system. One of the advantages of this move order is to skip Nf6 so you can prepare e5 quickly. So you can play d6 and Nd7, and then e5 is coming with a tempo. Of course, white can switch to e4, but it does not work well with Bf4, so black has a good version of Pirc. You can also go Nf6 and then either Kbd7 and Qe8, but not Re8... Or even Kfd7, followed by e5 and f5, then Nc6. Also, you can go for early c5 and Qb6 ideas. Double fianchetto is also on the cards with b6 c5 Bb7 Nbd7. Overall black has many good options here.
