Chess Olympiad R9: Leinier Dominguez gives hope to the USA against India!

Contrary to what happened in the previous Olympiad, the much-anticipated clash between India and Uzbekistan, the defending champions, was a very uneventful affair. All four games ended in a draw; Gukesh and Abdusattorov showed too much respect for each other! With India dropping its first point in the competition, the USA seized the chance to narrow the distance in the standings by defeating the hosts, Hungary. The day's hero was Leinier Dominguez, who scored the decisive victory against Sanan Sjugirov in a thrilling game. Another remarkable result was Vladimir Fedoseev's defeat of the world's number one Magnus Carlsen. In the Women's Olympiad, India was also held to a draw by Team USA, which, added to yesterday's loss, takes the Indian out of the first place.
