FIDE Candidates 2022 - GM Yermolinsky recaps Rounds 10-12

The most-awaited tournament of the year is taking place in Madrid, Spain.
Check our ARTICLE to learn more about the participants and the background of the tournament.
During the rest days, ICC will have GM Illescas and GM Yermolinsky recap the rounds.

Two rounds to go, and Ian Nepomniachtchi is two points ahead, in the sole and strong leadership of this super-important event.
All Ian needs is a draw in one of the remaining two rounds, to clinch the second Candidates tournament in a row, and be again the challenger to the throne of His Majesty Magnus Carlsen.
Nepomniachtchi is the only unbeaten player so far, and he sports a whopping +5!
Rounds 10, 11, and 12, notably, have seen the utter rout of one of the favorites: the young Frenchman of Iranian origins Alireza Firouzja.
the "kid" started the tournament as the "hottest" player in the lot, and the one Magnus Carlsen had indicated as his favorite opponent for the match that will take place next year.
But Alireza didn't seem to be in good form, and now with two rounds to go, he sits alone in the last position, with only 4.5 points out of 12.
Tomorrow round 13, and we may have a winner!
