Today is the birthday of Grandmaster Viktor Moskalenko, born in Odesa, Ukraine, on December 4, 1960.
After becoming Ukraine Champion in 1987, Moskalenko moved to Catalonia (Spain), winning the Catalonian Championship thrice.
Viktor reached his peak rating of 2591 Elo points in 2011. Moskalenko defeated elite players such as Khalifman, Vallejo, Jakovenko, Epishin, and Krasenkow during his career.
The Ukrainian GM is a FIDE Senior Trainer and has been the historical trainer of GM Vassily Ivanchuk.
Moskalenko is a well-known personality in chess, primarily thanks to his acclaimed books "Train with Moskalenko" and "Revolutionize Your Chess".
