In this new series of his acclaimed show "Every Russian Schoolboy Knows!", GM Alex Yermolinsky offers us his insight on the recently concluded FIDE World Cup. Yermo has played this event four times, and he says that the KO format is his favorite. It gives players who usually don't make it into the elite tournaments a chance to play the top guns, and we know this can lead to upsets and wild matches.
