Attack with LarryC!

Give Til it Hurts--Your Opponent

Today Larry opens his show with a nice combo, to illustrate one of the most important tactic themes: the interference. Interference occurs when the line between an attacked piece and its defender is interrupted by sacrificially interposing a piece. In this case, it's even more complicated than that. The interference creates sort of a wall between the defending pieces and the king, forcing immediate resignation. In the second part of the show Larry takes us into a fantastic application of the tactics and violence that can arise playing the Richter-Rauzer Attack of the Sicilian defense. This variations allows sacrifices, pawns storms on both wings, and all what a tactician like Larry loves. the game was played in 2012 at the Asian Championship between former Women World Champion and current strongest female chess player Hou Yifan and the other Chinese GM Li Chao. The games ia very well played by both players, until Hou Yifan plays a relatively weak move, that give Li Chao the go to unleash a storming and irresistible attack. Enjoy another great episode of "Attack with LarryC!".
