Radoslav Wojtaszek was the grand prize winner, defeating Arkady Naiditsch in a playoff after the two players drew each other in the last round and finished up tied at 7-2. The Polish grandmaster experienced an unusual kind of double victory. Indeed, Wojtaszek's victory was sweetened when his wife, Alina Kashlinskaya nabbed the women's prize. She pulled off a 200-point upset over Sam Sevian in the last round. Sam had some good moments in Isle of Man, but when you lose pawn against two knights, like he did against Karjakin, maybe it's not meant to be.
