Gibraltar Masters OpenGM Hikaru Nakamura won for the third time The Gibraltar Masters, after playoffs. GM Anton had the lead going into last round, but Nakamura was able to win his game to join Anton and Yu in a three-way tiebreak. Nakamura had to beat Yu to finally face Anton in the final playoff. We all know Hikaru's amazing strength at rapid and blitz games, and the American GM didn't disappoint, winning the final tiebreak and making Gibraltar his personal Open Grail. GM Joel Benjamin recaps for us the tournament, that was also characterized by a striking and controversial form of protest by the Women Chess World Champion Hou Yifan. The young Chinese star didn't like that she was paired with 7 women in 9 games, and in the last round game she played 5 moves and resigned.
