During the last week the chess world has lost two protagonists. GM Mark Taimanov passed away at the age of 90. Taimanov was a leading Russian chess player in the years between 1946 and 1971. He was also a world-class concert pianist. Russian GM Urii Eliseev also died at age 20, falling down from a 12 store building. He was a fan of the modern sport Parkour, which was fatal for him.
