GM Joel's Chess Week Recap

Taimanov, Eliseev, World Senior Champ. and Women's FIDE GP

During the last week the chess world has lost two protagonists. GM Mark Taimanov passed away at the age of 90. Taimanov was a leading Russian chess player in the years between 1946 and 1971. He was also a world-class concert pianist. Russian GM Urii Eliseev also died at age 20, falling down from a 12 store building. He was a fan of the modern sport Parkour, which was fatal for him. Joel Benjamin shows two games to tribute the two late GMs. Then GM Joel analyzes for us a game from the Senior World Championship over 50, and the episode closes with a nice game analysis from the Women FIDE GP played in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia.
