The king has retired. Long live the king! It took 14 Classical games and 4 Rapid ones for Ding Liren to complete his comeback and overcome Ian Nepomniatchchi in the battle for the World Championship title. Now the chess world is awaiting further developments, as the field of top players looks refreshingly open, while Magnus Carlsen is taking his well-deserved vacation from chess affairs. In this series of videos, I'm going to reflect on the ongoing tournaments in its entire lineup, from random Opens to the Grand Chess Tour series.
Video #1 is devoted to the exploits of two young American players, Hans Niemann and Sam Sevian, who took long trips to participate in international tournaments.
Video #2 is about Peter Svidler's triumph in Malmo, Sweden. It's nice to see the old horse outpacing the young stallions.
Video #3 deals with the opening event of the GCT, where all eyes were focused on the new World Champion, Ding Liren.
Video #4 is a special treat because it features the games of Magnus Carlsen from his victorious Superbet Blitz.
