Sinquefield Cup 2016 - Round 7 Video Recap

Opening: C67: Ruy Lopez: Berlin defense, open variation

Player(s): Nakamura, Vachier-Lagrave

GM Ronen Har-Zvi recaps Round 7. After yesterday's round, which brought us three decisive results, we're back to 5 draws. Caruana and Ding battled over the board for almost seven hours, most of which trying to get the upper hand in a very, very drawish endgame. Their game is the manifesto of this tournament: these super-strong guys are just too strong and precise to lose a game. The standings - obviously - stay unchanged, with Wesley So happy to draw his game against Svidler, to keep the sole lead half a point ahead of the two great oldies, Anand and Topalov. Two rounds to go now. We all expect the guys struggling behind the leader to try something quickly, or it will be just too late for all of them. Round 8 tomorrow at 2pm EDT -- 20:00 CEDT.
