IM Valeri Lilov’s Openings for Attacking Players - The Grand-Prix attack

Opening: B23: Sicilian: Grand Prix attack

Player(s):

A large number of chess players wonder what is the best way to counter the Sicilian as white. Truth is that there are many ways to play it, but most are very well known and contain a huge chunk of opening theory that each side must be aware of. This isn't very appealing to many, which is why I went ahead and tried this opening when I was in this same exact situation myself. The Grand-Prix attack provides to white many resources for an attack and opening advantage, while its semi-opened and structural approach leaves very little of risk to any major mistakes with fewer theoretical lines one should remember to play it well. In his new video, IM Lilov brings up his own approach to play this exciting opening for white against the dominant Sicilian which we so frequently happen to see.
