GM Petrov’s 10 Sharp Lines to become a Blitz Wizard - Vd5: Against the Pirc

Opening: B06: Pirc: Austrian attack with 6.e5

Player(s):

In this video, we will see a very sharp line against the Pirc or Modern defense, an opening that is very popular in blitz games.
White goes for the lines with f4, and black has many deviations, but the best is to go for the main lines.
And now white can play e5. Black should either take de5, then white has to keep the queens by taking fe5.
More forced a line is when black goes Nfd7 and white can try h4. This is a tricky line where black has to know many good moves to survive, and white is not risking much.
In many lines, it simply follows h5, then we open the h file, the queen arrives there and mates. I am sure you will enjoy this line.
