GM Misa Pap - How to beat the Sicilian Sveshnikov - Video 8: Black plays Ne7

Opening: B33: Sicilian Sveshnikov

Player(s): Shabalov, Aboudi, Gamboa, Zhao Zong, Brown, Tasic, Damnjanovic, Bauer, Nataf, Timoshenko, Mihevc Mohr

This video deals with the subline where black plays early Ne7, fighting for the d5 square, and unblock it. It has a price, of course. White will double his pawns with Nf6 gf6 and obtain a better pawn structure. In the ensuing play, you have to be careful and precise because after Bb7 and the inevitable d5 push, black will get some activity, but all that is not enough for equality. GM Misa gives us some excellent examples, which should be enough to grasp and understand what is going on, and how this particular line of play should be treated, and how white can get an advantage, sometimes even a big one!
