100K

Tomato hosts 100K Celebration!

To mark reaching 100,000 tourneys on chessclub.com 
since its inception, Tomato will host the 100K 
Celebration tourney starting at 10am server time on 
Sunday, December 10.  Tomato Celebration tourneys are 
the largest tournaments run on chessclub.com. Everyone 
is welcome to play.  There are no entry fees but there will
be 5 years membership extension in prizes in order to 
show thanks for all the support tomato has received from 
players over the years.  Free trial members may participate 
in the 100K Celebration, but they are not eligible to win
any prizes.

FORMAT:

8 Preliminary events, and a Grand Finale.  Many of these events
overlap.  It is impossible to play in more than 1 event at a time.

PRIZES:  In the case of a tie, prizes are split equally.

Preliminary events(8):
1st - 1 month, 2nd - 2 weeks, 3rd - 2 weeks.

Finale(3pm): 
1st - 6 months, 2nd - 4 months, 3rd - 3 months 
4th - 2 months, 5th-10th - 1month.

u2200/u2000/u1800/u1600/u1400 (4 months each)
  1st - 2 months, 2nd - 1 month, 3rd - 1 month.

u1200 (2 months) 1st - 1 month, 2nd - 2 weeks, 3rd - 2 weeks
u1000 1st - 1 month

Non free-trial members are eligible to win the greater
of any prize they earn in a preliminary or the finale. 

COMPUTERS: Absolutely no aid from chess-playing programs is
allowed. If ICC management suspects (we do not need to prove)
computer-use, you may be forfeited from the tournament, and you may
lose your ICC membership.

SANDBAGGING: ICC will not tolerate intentionally losing games in
order to make yourself eligible for a prize in a lower rating class.
Anyone caught doing so will be immediately forfeited from the 
tournament and will be ineligible for any prize in any of the
100k celebration events.

ASSISTANCE: You may not receive assistance from other chess players
during your games. You may not have someone else play on your ICC
account for you.

MISC: The ICC and Tournament Director reserve the right to refuse
participation and/or prize eligibility, for any person, for any
reason. The ICC reserves the right to change the format of the
tournament without notice. By registering, you agree to the above
rules, and give ICC the right to use your name in crosstables, press
announcements, and other promotional materials about this tournament.
