Sjeng 11.2 (2001-12-28/255)

--

This computer plays wild chess only; if you are unfamiliar with the rules for these chess variants, check out "help wild". Specifically, I will play wild 2, 3, 4 (shuffle variants), 5 (reversed pawns), 8 (advanced pawns), 17 (Loser's), 18 (power chess), and 23 (Crazyhouse).

For more information on the different wild types that I play, refer to these help files: "help wild5", "help wild8", "help wild17", "help wild18", "help Crazyhouse".

Current hardware configuration: 2.13GHz Pentium-M, 1GB RAM, running Windows XP. Operator: OrionsKnight. Note: I don't use !computer in my formula to get a high rating, but rather to prevent computers from monopolizing my time. Humans are much more interesting opponents!

Want to use your personal computer's "idle time" to fight deadly human diseases? Join Folding@Home, a project led by Stanford University, by downloading their free software at http://folding.stanford.edu. Don't let your computer's CPU time go to waste any more!

Folding@Home is a "distributed computing" effort, much like SETI@Home, to understand how proteins "fold" (assemble themselves) into their final, functional structure. When proteins fold incorrectly, or "misfold", diseases such as Alzheimer's, Mad Cow, and Parkinsons can result.

Unfortunately, because protein folding is so complex, even supercomputers cannot simulate the process in realistic amounts of time. So, the server at Stanford sends your computer a small packet of the work to process; when it is finished, your computer sends its results back.

In this way, your computer and 200,000 others around the world form a "grid" that's faster than any supercomputer! Get involved in world-class research today and join the fight to put an end to illnesses plaguing mankind! If you have any questions, you can ask OrionsKnight. :)
