Personal Notes

Wild 29:

Dasher 1.2.2 and higher versions of Dasher now properly supports nearly all of the wilds, including W27 and W9. Therefore Dasher 1.2 users will now be able to join W29 tournaments, which should greatly expand the pool of players as they discover this unique event.

W29 has been rebalanced to better reflect the current mix of wilds, but in the process, it was necessary to remove W16 and W28 entirely, as they still cannot be played from Dasher. However, we plan to add more separate W16 and W28 tournaments (with better time controls) for fans of these wilds.

We also had an entire overlook of the wilds left in w29 and removed wild 1 and wild 2 which were about the same as wild 22 (Fischer-Random). This is to make a better balance between wilds with normal chess rules but different setup and those wilds that have different rules of chess.

Since January 21st 2008 w29 (random wilds) contains: W3 Random Mirror, W4 Random Shuffle, W5 Pawns 1 move from queening, W8 Pawns on 4 and 5th rank, W9 Two kings, W17 Losers, W18 Powerchess, W22 Fischer Random, W23 Crazyhouse, W25 Three checks, W26 Giveaway and W27 Atomic.

W3, W4, W8 and W18 have a 1/25 chance of being chosen. W5, W9 and W22 have a 2/25 chance of being chosen. W17, W23, W25, W26, W27 have a 3/25 chance of being chosen.
