Spring 2006 Correspondence Championship!

The Internet Chess Club is happy to announce the Spring 2006
Correspondence Championship!

Correspondence chess is a great way to improve your chess skills as
you have hours to analyze your games. Moves are sent one at a time
through ICC messages. As in our other correspondence events,
players are required to make 10 moves in 30 days used, 20 moves in
60 days used, etc. Individual games are typically played over a
period of several months.

The ICC server automatically keeps track of all your games, moves
and time used. No record-keeping on your part is required! The
games will be rated under the Correspondence rating category.

Players will be grouped by rating into one of five sections: U1400,
1400-1599, 1600-1799, 1800-1999 and 2000+. Each section will be split
into three stages (Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals and Finals). Players
will be assigned approximately six games in the Quarter-Finals stage.
The top two players in each group will advance to the Semi-Finals.

ICC membership-extension prizes are available as follows:

Quarter-Finals, 1st place: 1/2 month
Semi-Finals, 1st place: 1 month
Semi-Finals, 2nd place: 1/2 month
Finals, 1st place: 4 months (6 months for 2000+)
Finals, 2nd place: 2 months (3 months for 2000+)
