Kasparov odds match and cash prize tournament on ICC!


Terence Chapman, in conjunction with the London Chess Centre
(http://www.chesscenter.com/) is proud to announce the live broadcast
of the Garry Kasparov vs. Terence Chapman Charity Chess Challenge. The
match will be broadcast at the following URL:

          http://www.chesscenter.com/chapmankasparov/

and also live on ICC, Saturday, April 21, 2001 and Sunday, April 22,
2001 at 7AM and 12PM server time.  Two games will be played each
day. Garry Kasparov gets 60 minutes for all moves, plus a 10 second
increment at move 50, while Terence Chapman gets 90 minutes for all
moves, plus a 10 second increment at move 50. Also check out

match.

In round 1, Kasparov is Black, and will play without his a and h pawn.
In round 2, Kasparov is White, and will play without his a and d pawn.
In round 3, Kasparov is Black, and will play without his a and b pawn.
In round 4, Kasparov is White, and will play without his a and e pawn.

Terence Chapman and London Chess Centre are also sponsoring a cash
prize tournament for ICC members using this format of one player
giving another the odds of 2 pawns. This tournament will start at 3PM,
Sunday, April 22, after the conclusion of the Kasparov - Chapman
match. The event is open to all ICC members, no entry fee.

8 Round swiss, 5 1 time control.

In rounds 1 and 2, Black will play without his/her a and h pawn.
In rounds 3 and 4, White will play without his/her a and d pawn.
In rounds 5 and 6, Black will play without his/her a and b pawn.
In rounds 7 and 8, White will play without his/her a and e pawn.

1st place: $100
2nd place: $ 50
3rd place: $ 25
1st U2200: $ 25
1st U2000: $ 25
1st U1800: $ 25
1st U1600: $ 25
1st U1400: $ 25

A free copy of Chess Monthly magazine to the top 50 players who do not
earn a cash prize.  3 book prizes donated by London Chess Centre
(http://www.chesscenter.com/) to the 3 best games in the tournament.
