I’ve never seen a pool where GMs are rated 1400-1600 except the shark tank that is the 1-minute pool. Losing streaks are downright dangerous, because you can wind up trapped in “low-rating hell,” playing people several hundred points lower than you, but who seem to turn into Fischer reincarnated against you. I’ve had my rating (normally 1700 or so) drop to 1300-1400, and STAY there for an extended period, with opponents who play more like GMs.
I’ve never seen a pool like this but it’s great for training.
