Is there any method on ICC of arranging longer time control games? It seems everyone here only plays blitz. I’ve tried issuing a challenge for longer games (say 60/30) but they don’t get accepted. I’ve managed a few 30/20 games when I’m patient enough to wait a half hour but I’d prefer something longer to play and shorter to wait for. On another chess site where I played previously, there are forums for arranging such games but I can’t find anything here.

Hi there!

Yes, in ICC there is a historic group of slow time-control lovers. It is the STC Bunch (Slow Time Control Bunch).
You can find information about this group here: STC

Hope this helps! grin

Thanks for that Lyon - its just what I want.
I registered on their website but unfortunately, I don’t seem to be able to activate my membership. I clicked on the link in the Activation email they sent me but it just goes to a page saying ‘Invalid Activation key’ and ‘Please supply a valid activation key’ which I don’t have. This was the Activation email I received

I can log in and view the site http://www.stcbunch.net but there appears to be only one Forum message in it, posted 4 months ago. This might be because I’m not activated properly. I can’t find any help or contact us details there to ask.  Any ideas?

You might want to check out Chess9030.  They have lots of slow quad tournaments at that time control.  Always good games there.
