Sometimes a game is so interesting that winning because of an opponent's blunder is a loss for both sides.
I prefer to give a takeback. I may even offer it. Then we can go on playing that great game. The same with obvious mouseslips. I don't see anything wrong in doing this, mine are FRIENDLY games.
I never ask for takebacks myself.
And don't take me wrong, I play to win. But I like many things in life more than chess. Those playing me are helping me to have some fun, not trying to take my wife away :-)
Rating just helps me to choose my opponents.
