I'm an ex-S/W dev. (Java, C/C++, Assembler, some .NET; Excel macros/OO VBA) located in Hamilton (near Toronto, Canada). My USCF rating is 1858. BEST GAME (but not my fav.) is from Play the Master vs manest, lib #26; "very well played" - manest, "wow, awesome" - kibs. Best tourn: Tomato 306916 Rp=2264
Exchanging 'Thank You's after a game doesn't make sense How about saying Handshake instead? +alias HS say Handshake
MORE TIME: How about having a universal minimal delay of up to 2 secs before moves? This would reduce mousies, improve people's chess and their enjoyment. Bullet could be a special case.
TAKEBACKS: For dumb moves: No! For mousies: Maybe, if the game is even.
AFTER GAME ANALYSIS: I'm using the built-in analysis engine; which I also use while foll'g Master games -- it's a great deal.
LUCK is a factor in blitz in that you can start a combo that's too long to analyze in the time avail. Or say it's instinct if you're a Master or very familiar with the pos. No luck implies that you're analytically responsible for each move, good or bad -- who needs that? And there's premoving too.
There's always luck in chess in that your opp might blunder.
FAVORITE ADAGE: "Chess is a sea where gnats can drink and elephants bathe." http://www.chess-poster.com/english/notes_and_facts/chess_quotes.htm
PROVISIONAL RATINGS: I'd like to know at the start of a game if my opp. is provisional, especially in 5 min.
Dumb stuff: offering a draw or asking for a takeback after making a mistake, If you're going to ask me for a takeback or a rematch then don't do dumb stuff.
