My name is Rob Rosenberg

26 years old from Santa Monica, CA. BS Applied Physics from Caltech, 2011. Was a chess club officer 2008-2011.

USCF rating 1811, with the majority of my rated games in scholastic tournaments from 1998-2004

High school & college baseball gave me much less time for chess, but I hope to always be an active player

accomplishments include tying for 2nd in the 1999 California 4th Grade Championships, tying for 1st in 2001 CA State Elems, and winning the 2002 7th Grade Cal. Championship by a full point

32-6-3 in 2000 tourneys, never had more losses than wins in a full tournament

This note was about my dad, who taught me chess, started losing to me when I was 10 or so, and had an ICC account, but has since given up the game

I almost always play rated... takebacks only on OBVIOUS and fatal mouseslips or if you give me one... i'll ask for takeback on only obvious mouseslips (see sirtricksalot #4) but don't expect it... i don't like to abort and dislike move 1 aborts as well

I like middling time controls.... I can't play faster than 3 min on a computer because it takes too much time for me to think and move the mouse, and I like to think:) On the flip side, I don't like it when my opps take 6 mins on every other move.

handle is RobTheRocket because i pitch in baseball and my role model is Roger Clemens, whose nickname is the Rocket and has an incredible 7 Cy Young Awards
