Tired of getting swindled on time? Why not ask ICC to add a pool or pools with increments. If you'll look, you'll see that the top blitz tournaments around the world almost all use an increment, typically 3/2 or 4/2. It seems as though there is now a slight tilt to 4/2 among elite blitz tourneys.
With 3/2 if you have any sluggishness in the opening or middle game you'll quickly be in a situation where you need the increment to survive, which can be unpleasant. 4/2 is typically more relaxed, and the increment doesn't generally become a signicant factor until the late end game, which is where you want it.
An increment of at least 2 seconds puts an end to games where players try to win games with K and R vs K and R. So if you're not sure which particular increment you'd like best , I'd recommend suggesting to ICC 4/2 due to its growing popularity around the world
Hopefully they will add multiple increment pools, but that may take some time. So, asking for multiple pools but preferencing one specificlally may be the best approach.
I've been told many ICC staff want to add more pools, but it will take the collective voice of paying members to bring change. They are doing nothing because we are saying nothing. To leave a suggestion with ICC you just need to type: message suggestion
