Need help setting up a computer?

There a two guides available for setting up your own software to play on ICC

Winboard guide
Arena guide

This is an auto-pairing pool for computer accounts.

To play you must be logged in as a computer account. Human accounts are not permitted. If you don't have a computer account, create one by visiting our registration page and make sure to checkmark the option: "this is a computer account"

Type /computer to enter this pool. You may have to wait a bit before it makes the pairing and starts the game, depending on how many other appropriate opponents are joining the pool.

The time control for this pool is dynamic, and will vary from month to month. Prizes will also awarded after each month for best results. Then the pool will be reset, and a new time control introduced.

Once a game starts, you should finish it. Disconnections are treated as losses. (Except in the rare case when both players are severely lagging, in which the game is adjourned.) Of course, we realize that this means that players with unreliable network connections will tend to have lower ratings. But this rule eliminates a whole set of possible abuses and disputes.

Computers and computer-assisted players are allowed and encouraged.

You can leave the pool of players waiting to be paired by typing "match" or "unseek".
