There are several ways to customize the way the game window is set up each time you start playing or watching a game. On the middle right of the Playing tab of the Settings Dialog is the Display section.
- MoveList -- by changing option, you can specify whether the list of moves is not displayed while you play (uncheck the box) or under what conditions it is displayed (check the box and choose from the menu). Most people have the move list visible when playing except during bughouse.
By default, the movelist in the board window shows the moves of the game in Figurine notation. If you prefer algebraic notation, you can uncheck the box.
- Captured pieces -- Checking/unchecking the captured pieces display box determines whether you can graphically see the pieces you have captured. Turning it off allows a larger possible board in normal chess, yet will still display the captured pieces in variants that require it (bughouse, crazyhouse).
- Show 1/100ths of a second - if you want to see hundredths of a second on your clock, check the box and specify the conditions under which you want to see them in the choice box.
- Low time warning -- Checking the box will cause the client software to warn you with an audio message when you are low on time. You can specify the threshold by filling in the number of seconds remaining in the game at which it occurs.
-
Bughouse mode -- check this box if you want to use the full bughouse mode, i.e. a dual board display with dashboard so you can see your partner playing and communicate by single click.
-
Clock size -- The size of the clock can be changed to fit your preferences.
