Your ICC Password

Your ICC handle is password protected to ensure that no one else can log in with your handle. You will be asked to enter your password each time you log into the ICC so choose a password that is easy to remember, yet hard for others to guess.

Changing your password

Passwords are changed in the Main Console. The command to change your password is:  password old new

Example: Say your current password is Iowa1567, and you want to change it into Dakota4467, you will type:

Recovering a forgotten password

To retrieve a lost password, visit the lost password page and fill out the form. Your password will be emailed to you. If the Email address ICC has on file for you is not correct, you will need to log on as a guest and ask for help from an admin. You can also send an e-mail to icc@chessclub.com to verify your identity and have the password sent to you.

Did you know?

ICC rules do not allow members to share their username:
I will not give my password to anyone. I will not share
my account. I am the only person allowed to use my
account.  Specifically, I will not allow other people
to use my account for chatting, observing events,
playing games, or for any other purpose.  The only
exception is that I may allow a third party to play one
(1) unrated game for the purpose of demonstrating the
Internet Chess Club.  I will not use any account which
does not belong to me.

TIP: If other players have access to the computer you use to log into ICC, be careful not to save your password in the Login box:
