Get ready for the GMs! A new series of events for ICC members, with our Grandmasters ready to play you!

Join the events or watch it in our brand new LIVE ICC TV! Enjoy the GM's live commentary as he or she narrates his ideas and impressions as he plays!   Time control for the Simuls is 60 + 30 and each event will be played by 20 ICCers; Time control for the Banter Blitz is 3 + 2 and will be played by 15 ICCers.       October 2014    Saturday 11, 2pm ICC time GM John Fedorowicz Score: +15 =1 -3 Games: Download PGN       Our Battler form Bronx had another nice simul this month. John lost only three games, and drew one. Kudos to the winners: Enzo25, dikicz123 and TahoeSam!   Thursday 16, 2pm ICC time GM David Smerdon  Score: +14 =0 -1 Games: Download PGN         Despite being a little sick from a cold, David started his Banter Blitz session with the belligerent aim to win all the 15 games. In the first game, he got... checkmated by his opponent nikenwidiartto! niken played a very nice game, and even if at the end he could not immediately find the right combination, he managed to checkmate the GM. David was in shock, but then he got himself together and raised the stakes: he decided to play the rest of the games without castling! And went on to win all the 14 games that followed the surprising initial checkmate.   Wednesday 22, 2pm ICC time GM Ronen Har-Zvi Score: +15 =0 -0 Games: Download PGN And yet another perfect score by our "Ronen Orient Blitz Express". ICC put at stake one free month for those who would have defeated our GM, but nobody was able to claim the prize! Ronen played relaxed and confident, and only in a couple of games he was "tiny bit" worried about the position, nonetheless he managed to win all the 15 Blitz games.    Friday 31, 3pm ICC time GM Maxim Dlugy Score: +15 =0 -0 Games: Download PGN   Summary Max warned everyone at the beginning of his Banter Blitz session: "I became father of a beautiful babygirl only 4 days ago, so tonight I'll play with her and my wife. We will be three here, so it'll be hard for you!". And Max did not give a chance to anyone: he collected another perfect score, with 15 wins. Congratulations to Max and welcome to his babygirl!

Instructions to participate

BLITZIN/DASHER users

1. Join the simul channel (ch 3). In the chat area (console) just type: /+channel 3
2. Once the simul is open, type: /tell simulbot join

ICC for Mac/windows users

1. Go the the Channel list button upper right-hand corner, and add the “Simul”
2. Go to menu item VIEW->CONSOLE and type: /tell simulbot join

For the Blitz Banter sessions, you need to type in your console: /match <gmname> 3 2 u -- for example: /match LarryC 3 2 u. An admin will announce in channel 3 when you can match the GM. The system used in this case is first in-first served: the first 15 players to match the GM will play him.

The events will be streamed LIVE on ICC chess TV!

You will be able to see the Grandmaster playing the event, and listen to his comments DURING the play! Don't expect the GMs to tell you your next winning move, though.  Stay tuned, and enjoy!
