Game Of the Week: GM Ray Robson vs. GM Manuel Leon Hoyos

Opening: :

Player(s):

Three-time U.S. Champion GM Joel Benjamin brings you a new show every Friday at 15:00 Server Time. Joel is regarded by many as one of the best commentators and analysts' we have in the game today -- so if you want to get ahead of the game, get ready to tune-in!

Ray Robson won a strong open tournament that ran alongside the Spice Cup round-robin in St. Louis. GM Joel especially enjoyed his win over Mexican grandmaster Manuel Leon Hoyos.  It’s pretty much a straight-up attacking game, which is not to imply that it lacks sophistication. Being a good attacking player is not so much a matter of possessing tactical skills as it is knowing how to build your position and anticipating where the tactical possibilities might arise. Joel says it’s something instinctive, and this quality gives Robson a chance to have a very special future. Let's enjoy this interesting episode of the celebrated weekly show "Game Of the Week", with GM Joel Benjamin!
