Attack with LarryC: Inspired Rook Lift Leads to Jolly Good Rout

Opening: C88, E04: Ruy Lopez, Catalan

Player(s): Jolly, Gozzoli, Troff, Duda

The super-tournament in Wijk aan Zee start Saturday the 10th, and GM Larry Christiansen opens his show with a sparkling combo from last year's Tata Steel, where Duda attacks forcefully to win a nice game. The main course of the show is a game played between two Frenchmen: Jolly and Gozzoli (you need to pronounce the names with an accent on the last letter) at the 2014 Andorra Open. This little classic has been brought to Larry's attention by an ICC member, and it shows one of the most loved motifs by our GM: a lethal rook lift, which decides the game.
