Requesting a Tourney!
Been
waiting all day for that tourney you’d
love to play in? There’s a channel devoted exclusively
to tourney requests! Managers keep an eye on channel 221
to see what tournaments would be popular with the players. Usually
if several players are asking for the same type of tourney, a
manager will go ahead and run it! So next time you’re
just dying for that one special tourney, “tell 221 Hey,
can you guys run <my favorite tourney> please?”. Our
managers are standing by!

Game annotated by GM Ronen Har-Zvi
 Former

scores of 30-0 and 28-0 to his name.
Indiana-Jones (2321) - MindRide (1746)
ICC 35 35 u Internet Chess Club (1), 27.04.2007
Sometimes even in a Simul it is time to
play wild - or maybe only in Simuls

18.fxg4 Nxg4 19.Nxf5!? [This was
prepared for very long time - all white's pieces are aimed
towards the kingside, and a sacrifice to break in, is required.] 19...exf5
20.Bxf5 Nxe3?? [This is obviously the first move to look for,
but a losing one. Black should have sensed how dangerous
his king's position is, and play the only move 20...Ke8
when the position is very complicated.]

21.Bxd7+! [When I play fxg4 followed by
Nxf5 , I had not calculated so deeply. I felt it is correct , or at least should
be checked. But here after 20... Nxe3 I felt white must be winning; I now sank
into a deep thought of about 1-1.5 minutes! (serious time in Simul ), and was
happy I managed to find the best possible continuation [21.Be6+ looks interesting,
but I could not find anything after 21...Ke8 21...Ke8! and the knight on e3
controls all the squares!; 21.Bg6+ Kg7 I was not sure about this position during
the game - but with my friend Herr Fritz 10 I am more sure! 22.Rxh7+ Rxh7 23.Rf7+
Kg8 24.Bxh7
+ Kh8 25.Qd3 and the game is over] 21...Kg7
22.Rxh7+!!

[This is white's idea when playing 21.Bxd7]
|

|
|

|
22...Rxh7
23.Rf7+ Kxf7 24.Qxh7+ [white has successfully broke
in] 24...Kf6 [24...Kf8
25.Be6 and mate in a few moves] 25.Qh6+ Kf7 26.Be6+

26... Ke8 27.Qg6+ Kd8 28.Qg8+ Kc7 29.Qxc8+
Kb6 30.b4?!

[A mistake? Well, I am not so sure, but the computer
says that after
30.b4 white is +3.5 and after 30.Nb3 white is +13! So I guess b4
was a mistake after all! But it still looks the most natural move
to me, and in 95% of the time playing the natural simple moves
will prove to be also THE BEST.] 30...Qxa3? [30...cxb4
31.c5+ Ka6 (31...Kb5 32.Qxb7+ Ka4 33.Ka2 and mate in 2 moves) 32.Bg4!
And white is winning. To be honest, I hadn't seen this during the
game! But hey, it turned out good, because after 30...Qxa3 I was
able to play one of the most beautiful mates I have ever seen!] 31.dxc5+
Ka6 [White had one move here, and one move only to avoid losing
- but this move leads to a spectacular mate in 2! Do you think
you can find it?]

32.Qc6+!! bxc6 33.Bc8#

What a position! 1-0
