Now you can super-charge Dasher and obtain the most reliable analysis from the World Champion "Junior" chess engine. Junior is considered by many to be the strongest and most human-like of all the computer engines. What sets Junior apart is the special search techniques and evaluation functions, giving it a creative playing style and a pronounced understanding of compensation, allowing you to explore new possibilities of sacrifice, attacks and sharp dynamic play.
Junior was written by Israeli programmers Amir Ban and Shy Bushinsky. Despite the goal of the programmers to develop Junior for you, the chess player, it also excels against other chess engines. During the 14th Computer World Championship, Junior impressed experts with its extraordinary dynamic play and remained undefeated during the entire event to capture its 3rd Computer World Championship. In 2007 Deep Junior defeated Deep Fritz in FIDE's "Ultimate Computer Chess Challenge".

What's included with your purchase:
After your purchase is complete, Junior will be activated on your computer and you will be provided with
a link to download and install the program. To enable Junior on your second and third computer, visit the Install an additional license webpage after you have downloaded and installed Junior on the target computer. If you experience computer problems and need to re-install your purchased version of Junior on any of your three computers, you can download the installer for Junior 10.1 or Deep Junior 10.1. Note: To download an installer, you must have previously purchased a copy of the software.

After you install Junior, you can use it by clicking the Analysis button at the top of each game board:

| Score | There are many factors that affect score, but the basic scoring method is to assign each piece a value (pawns=1, Bishop/Knight=3, Rook=5, Queen=9) and evaluate which side is winning and by how much. Junior displays the score with + values good for white, - values good for black. |
| Depth | Depth is the ply (1/2 moves) that Junior has searched ahead to produce the current best move and score. A depth of 14 is searching 7 moves ahead. |
| Time | Time is the total time used in the current search to produce score, depth and nodes. |
| Nodes | Nodes is the number of chess positions the engine searched to arrive at the current score and depth. |
| 21. c4 is the move (principal variation) that Junior currently evaluates as the best move for the side to move. | |
You can also match your skills against the World Champion Junior engine in offline play. After you purchase Junior, a new GM Junior personality will be available. GM Junior will give you a personal introduction to sacrifice, attacks and sharp dynamic play. How many moves can you last?
| Troubleshooting |
After you purchase Junior, the installer does all the work to setup your engine for use. You can find your Junior engine here:
To ensure the engine is properly installed, click the Next button above.
Go to the General tab in Settings:
Under Analysis Engine, ensure that the Junior engine is selected. Use the drop-down list to choose it if it is not already selected:
Directly below the drop-down engine list, ensure that UCI protocol is selected from the list.:

Finally, to use your new engine, you will select the analyze icon in your game board:
When you switch the analysis engine on, you will see analysis below the game board:
