The Info Window in BlitzIn 2.5
The Info Window is a html browser window within BlitzIn 2.5. With it you can do things, such as find content the ICC has provided for you to read, or set your variables.
If it's not already open, go to the windows menu and select it. If you select Options / Browse at Login, it will always open when you first login.
Once you have selected it, there will be a check mark next to it to show it's
open in the Window menu. If it's already selected and it's not the top window,
you can select it again and it will surface to the top. Selecting it while it's
both at the top and open or checked will close the window.
This window behavior is new to BlitzIn 2.5, and applies to the Info Window, Notify List window, Events Window, and Seek Graph.
This is what the Info Window looks like when it's opened. Also, in the Window
menu there will now be a check mark. You will notice there are four tabs currently
at the top. Clicking on them opens a page of that topic.
In addition to Home you can choose My ICC, News, and Help, to get information on these topics.
As can be seen above with the screenshot of the My ICC window you can do several things with it such as set your channels, or set your preferences such as playing preferences.
Making changes in your preferences in the Info Window will work the same as if you had actually typed those commands in the main console. Using the Info Window for many is an easier way to control your ICC settings, without having to learn a lot.
The other tabs, News and Help, show links to how to get help, and in the News tab how to view the recent ICC News announcemnts, which could cover everything from the latest server upgrade to who are the winners of last months tomato series.
As can be seen by the above screenshot, all you have to do is click on the blue link next to the News item to view it. Also further down this page, archives of all possible News items are made available. This can be fun reading. In many ways ICC history is described in its nearly 2000 News articles sent out over the years.
