ICC Help: loadgame

Command:  loadgame
Usage:  loadgame <game-reference>
Examples:  "loadgame deep-blue 2" -- load game 2 of deep-blue's history list.
"loadgame %1" -- load game %1 of your personal library.
"loadgame 5" -- load game 5 in your search list

Loadgame is only available when playing wild variant 20, and then only at the start of the game. It copies the final position and move list of the specified game to the w20 game you are playing. This can be used to play games starting from an arbitrary position, e.g. for practicing a certain opening or type of endgame. You can also use loadgame to play out a history game in which one of the players resigned or ran out of time.

Note that if your opponent does a loadgame of a position that you don't want to play, you can abort unilaterally before you move. But even so, there is some potential for trickery, so we do not advise playing rated w20 games. Also note that this is NOT the normal way to resume an adjourned game (just "match" your opponent).
