***** U1500 *****

Daily Blitz Tournament for ICC players under 1500.

The Internet Chess Club holds a tournament for players rated under
1500 (ICC blitz rating) every day at 10pm EST. The tournament is
a 5-round rated Swiss event with a time control of 2 6.

Anyone with an ICC blitz rating under 1500 at the start of the
tournament each day is welcome to enter. To join a tournament,
login to ICC at least 10 minutes before 11pm, type "+chan 46" to
get into the tournament channel, and type "tell Tomato join".

Each month the ICC awards prizes to the 3 players who have the best
cumulative score during the whole month, and to the 3 players who play
the most games during the month. The same player cannot win more
than one prize in one month. The 3 prizes in each category are ICC
membership extensions of one month, a half month, and a half month.

You can see the current standings. For example, type:
"tell Tomato series best jan-u1500" or
"tell Tomato series most jan-u1500"

To make the prize distributions fair and give everyone a chance to
win, we have the following rule: To be eligible to win one of the
prizes, you must have an ICC blitz-best rating under 1750, a current
bullet rating (if you have one) under 1750, and a current standard
rating (if you have one) under 1750.The idea is that people with
bullet or standard ratings over 1750 probably are not truly "under 1500"
strength players, and we want to give the "true" under 1500's a
fighting chance to win prizes. You are still welcome to play even if
you don't meet the prize requirements.

Absolutely no computers, account sharing, intentionally lowering one's
rating (sandbagging), or any other violations of "help agreement".
Such infractions may carry sanctions beyond the scope of the tournament
and the series, and affect your ICC standing.
