Every Thursday at 9:00 PM Eastern (server) Time, ICC hosts a rated
Opening Thematic Tournament at the G/15 time control.
Entries are accepted starting at 8:45PM the same day. To enter the
tournament at that time, type:
Command:
tell Slomato join
If you are entering during rounds 1 or two, replace the command
with /tell Slomato latejoin Also, type: /tell 222 Hi I am in.
An opening thematic tournament is one in which the opening moves are
specified in advance. These tournaments provide a splendid way to learn
an opening, since there is no teacher quite like playing both the white
and black side of the opening under the fire of tournament play.
Additionally, this tournament also features a slower time control, for
those players who prefer a somewhat slower game.
Type finger thematic to see the feature opening for that week, and for
other additional information. "message Thematic" with both recommendations
for openings to be used in Thematics, and with other questions.
